Workshop on Facing interviews
Every organization has their own way of recruiting people hence most of the youngsters find it very challenging to face an interview. Consequently, we, the Rotaract Club of Colombo Regent, collaborated with Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC, popularly known as DIMO, to help participants grow confidence and gain an insight on interviews. DIMO is a company which acts as a good corporate citizen, following good global practices in corporate governance. They are commonly known for imports, automobile, agriculture, and engineering, that also has +100 partnerships with International Brands.
This session was conducted virtually in benefit of all the attendees during this pandemic, looking out for job opportunities and experience on the work field. As most companies are looking out for new talent, DIMO gave us an opportunity to enter our CV’s for an internship and also guided on how to answer an interviewer.

The committee managed to successfully hold this webinar with 34 participants, reaching a maximum of 44 who attended on the 4th of September 2021, through Zoom. As invitees, Mrs. Dilrukshi Kurukulasuriya: the Chief Human Resource Officer, Ms. Suwatthi Kandiah: Assistant Manager – Employer Branding, Diversity and Inclusion, Mr. Navin Rupasinghe: Deputy General Manager – Employee Engagement and Transformation, Ms. Aruni De Zoysa: Manager – Talent Aquisition and Mr. Bhathiya Jayawardena: Assistant Manager – Employee Engagement & Transformation, conducted mock interviews and shared their insights on how to present oneself at an interview.

As a whole, we experienced an insightful exposure to the great corporate world and the requirements of modern employers, learning how to stand out and condense one’s personality, qualifications, and skills into an interview, by receiving back feedback from these professionals. The DIMO team was passionate and excited to have these youngsters participate and discover new talent.
